English is nice to learn (here are 9 reasons why it is good) and although it is considered affordable and relatively easy to learn, with 750,000 words and spelling that can confuse even the most experienced learner, it may seem impossible to learn English quickly. But I'm here to say that's not the case – unless you have the right strategy.
Here are our top tips on how to quickly learn English:
1. Read everything you can get your hands on
Classic literature, books, newspapers, websites, emails, your social media, cereal boxes: if it's in English, read it. Why? Well, this content will be filled with a juicy new vocabulary, along with many that you already know. This helps to improve quickly, to get acquainted with the acquired dictionary again brings new examples in context, thereby strengthening these words in your head. On the other hand, learning new words and expressions is essential to create an arsenal of vocabulary, especially in a language like English with so many words! 2. Actively pay attention to the new vocabulary
This tip is classic for good reason: it works! When we learn, we often enjoy a new word so much that it seems impossible to forget it. But believe us, not everything gets stuck the first time. To combat this, get used to carrying a funky laptop or using a tool like Evernote. Every time you hear or read a new word or phrase, write it down in context: that is, in a sentence and with its marked meaning. It saves time, because you do not return to this word and ask yourself: "What does this word/phrase mean again?”
3. Talk to real live people
What is the language, if not for communication? Of course, we humans have become communication experts without opening our mouths-thanks to WhatsApp! - but when it comes to what it is, it is true that speaking a language helps keep you in mind much better than just reading or writing. Think about how often you hear people say, "you get it, but you can't speak English."Many potential English-speaking users have turned the conversation into a huge, insurmountable barrier that only serves their psyche. Don't be like that. Look for native speakers for an informal language exchange, sign up for a course, or take online courses.
4. Subscribe to podcasts or Youtube channels
How's the humor? Politics? Blogging? Do you cook? With topics covering all sorts of interests, there's an English-language podcast or a Youtube channel for you. Sign up for several and listen while driving or watch while driving to school or work. You may find native accents difficult at first, but stick with it and you will soon begin to understand what you hear (and even learn a lot of new vocabulary from a native speaker!)
5. Travel abroad
If there is a better way to learn English than living and studying in an English-speaking country, we would love to know! It's no secret that English is the most used language in the world, and with a long list of countries to choose from, you can choose the perfect learning environment based on the hemisphere, the weather or your favorite city. Think Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA, Canada and South Africa, to name a few!
6. Use friends
Do you have friends who post in English online? Don't forget them in your News Feed: scan the items you share and open one or two every day. It can be news or newspaper articles, videos, conversations, blog posts, songs or anything else: if it is in English and the topic interests you, it will be helpful!
7. Ask many questions
Curiosity can kill the cat, but also move the language teacher to skills! Learning English, you will soon collect a mountain of questions. Do not sit on your doubts-be curious and solve them! When registering for a course, ask your teacher(after all, he is there for this). But if you study on your own, do not worry: find answers on blogs or language sites, ask other students or read forums. You'll be glad you did it!
8. Take a lead from the stars
Mix up your training by choosing an English-speaking actor or singer you like. Go online now, find some interviews you have given and watch them! Look at gist once, then again and take the time to write down interesting expressions and words that you hear. The Slang, stories, humor and anecdotes that accompany this interview will surely give you a lot of work!
9. Start with what you really need
Your English learning can go much faster if you constantly remember your motives for learning. Are you going to a scientific exchange? Then focus on the vocabulary associated with the studio. Do you have a conference abroad? Update the beginning of the conversation to use it with other participants. Are you planning a one-year break? It looks like the travel and travel dictionary will be your guide. 10. Do not dig in
If you start to feel like you're not doing the floor - which happens to all students at some point – don't say "I don't speak English" or "I'll never understand"."Actually ban these phrases from your vocabulary! They only blur your understanding of the progress you are making and convince you that your dreams of speaking English well are impossible. Instead, say:" I'm learning English and improving every day"," it's not always easy, but it's worth it"," I feel much better than I was half a year ago " and other phrases that remind you of a broader perspective.
